Had a blast with Base Camp Adventure!

Namaste everyone! I made 2 treks last june (one in the Langtang, the Gosaikunda trek and the other one in the Annapurna region the Ghorepani- Poon hill trek) and visited the Chitwan national park with Base Camp adventure and I really don't regret it. Shree, the tour operator organized everything as I wished and was full of good advices as I never went on a trek before and made everything very easy for me. And the guide, Raj, was also really nice, patient as I was never on a trek before, and made me feel very comfortable. I had only to enjoy the wonderful sceneries! I can only warmly recommand this agency very serious and professionnal! Dorothée

Shree is the man to see

My son and I recently spent a couple of weeks in Nepal, and everything was handled by Base Camp Adventure. Shree and his staff were unfailingly friendly, flexible, and efficient, prices were fair, the guides drivers were safe and knowledgable. We did all we fit in during the short time we had: The Annapurna Trek, Chitwan Park Safari, Everest flightseeing, paragliding and more. Shree arranged it all, and stayed in touch with us the whole time, making sure everything worked out well. When my son got sick, Shree picked him up at our hotel, took him to the hospital, and stayed with us for hours while he was being treated. When we had to change our itinerary, twice, Shree rearranged everything cheerfully. His insight and perceptiveness ensured we made the best choices. I'm convinced we got a lot more out of the trip because their expertise.

Absolutely superb!
Outstanding. I would highly recommend Base Camp Adventures for single women, a couple of people to a group. I was blown away with the service Shree provided, he is fluent in English, honest, very professional and flexible. His priority is to ensure you have a once in a life time experience and I certainly did! A friend and I wanted to do the Annapurna Circuit and we visited numerous companies in Khatmandu, but were dissatisfied with them all. However we then found Shree at Base Camp Adventures, recommend to us by another group of travellers having done Everest BC with them. Instantly we liked him and after a lovely long chat (these can sometimes go on for hours, but are always interesting and funny!) we decided to go with his company. We wanted to leave the next day and this was absolutely fine - much to our surprise! Everything that Shree said would happen, happened and it was an incredible trip. We weren’t sure about a guide, but after talking with Shree we decided to hire one - Jwala. Jwala made our trip, he was our guide as well as a friend and I am very happy that we took him with us. He is very kind, professional, thoughtful, incredibly knowledgable about Nepal and high altitude treks (having a great extent of experience himself) and most importantly, I always felt safe. Jwala also took us off the beaten trek when possible and helped us experience a truly unique Nepal. When I was unwell in Langtang he looked after me as a dear friend, always making sure I was warm, comfortable and eating/drinking enough - once I recovered, I made it to the top of the mountain, which I could not have done without him! I was hesitant being a solo female traveller and hiring a guide on my own, but with Jwala I knew I was in good hands! Having completed with Jwala and a friend the Annaourna Circuit, I decided to take him with me to the Langtang Valley. It was the best decision I made, as I had a fantastic time with him! We were able to go into the locals homes and he managed to have the Glacier research hut opened for me! Shree also organised for my friend and I to go to Chitwan, which was a great trip too! I have Shree, Jwala and Base Camp Adventues to thank for such a wonderful time in Nepal. I hope to go back in the near future to visit Nepal and will be going with Base Camp Adventures (who I have recommended to so many people already!)

Everest View Trek and Chitwan National Park
We booked a combination Everest View Trek (Lukla to Namche Bazaar) and Chitwan National Park from Dec 20 to Jan 1. Before the trip, Shree, the CEO of Basecamp Adventures (BA), provided awesome customer service as I worked out the trip details with him. Shree was very professional in his reply, prompt in answering all my questions, and gave really good suggestions to make our trip better. Once we arrived into Kathmandu, BA arranged everything (airport pickup, hotel, guides, etc), so that my wife and I did not need to worry about any aspect of our trip. The only thing we had to decide for ourselves was where to eat during a few meals when we were on our own in Kathmandu. The accommodation was very reasonable and located in a very good part of Kathmandu perfect for shopping and sightseeing. We had a great trekking guide, Shiva, that took us from the Kathmandu hotel to Lukla, via a short flight. Shiva really took care of us each step of the way. Even though we went in the middle of winter, BA provided us sleeping bags and down coats that kept us warm during the cold nights up in the Himalayas. Additionally, BA also arranged for a porter to carry a lot of our gears so that it made our trip much more enjoyable. Even though I couldn't hike very fast, Shiva was very patient and professional as he waited for us patiently. Unfortunately, Shiva had a family emergency. But BA and Shree made sure my wife and I were taken cared of. Without wasting time, they found a local guide, An Tsering from Khumjung. Without any problems, my wife had a great time enjoying the food, sights, and sounds as we trek around the Namche Bazaar area. To fill out the rest of our trip, we went to Chitwan National Park. The accommodation was very good. The cultural show, elephant ride, canoe ride, and safari was well done. To cap it off we were up close to baby elephants in the breeding center. I'm already recommending my friends to go with BA if they were ever going to Nepal and trek in the Himalayas. The pricing was very reasonable and we were satisfied with all areas of service provided by BA. Shree and his coworkers are main reason my wife and I enjoyed this trip so much. We look forward to going back to Nepal in the near future!

Trip Details

Established in 1973 AD, Chitwan National Park is the most famous and the first National Park of Nepal. Ever since UNESCO declared it as a Natural World Heritage Site, it has been the most popular destination for tourists wanting to have amazing wildlife and flora and fauna filled exploration. Situated in the Central development region of Nepal and covering an area of 932 sq. km, Chitwan National Park is the home to more than 500 Asian one horned rhinoceros and Royal Bengal Tigers along with many other animal and birds species.

Back in 19th Century, Chitwan used to be a favourite hunting ground for Nepal’s ruling class only. Consequently, it became a favourite spot for big game safari hunters in the late nineteenth century which resulted in the drastic decrease in jungle habitat and animal populations. The falling number of Rhino (less than 200) and tiger (less than 30) in the present park, led to the declaration of two-third of the park as sanctuary in 1963. Since then, the wild life population has definitely rebound. Latest census figure shows rhino number are substantially recovering to 503 individuals and tiger number are steadily increasing to 120 adults in 2013.

Chitwan National Park is perhaps the best park in Nepal for seeing animals in their natural habitat. Here, you will find a lost universe of towering trees and winding vines, pre-notable rhino and ambling elephants, crocodile, python and deer; splendidly colored birds and on the off chance that you are blessed – the heavenly Royal Bengal Tiger. Imparting home to these are different other creatures like rhesus monkey, grey langur, deer, panthers and wild cats and so on. Another most vital component adding to the chitwan experience is the beautiful Tharu Culture, their method for living, society and convention and heart touching Tharu Dance.

To observe the rare great one horned rhino, exclusive tigers, leopards and many other rare and exotic animals and birds you can either take elephant back safari, or take nature walks with trained local naturalists. A jungle jeep drive through the park and boat ride down the river can also be done to experience close encounter with armour-plated one horned rhinoceros and follow tiger tracks through the thick jungles. All these adventurous activities are enough to make your trip one memorable and rewarding trip of your life.

All in all, Chitwan National Park provides you an escape from the polluted atmosphere and the noise of the big cities and takes you closer to the nature. If you are someone who wants to experience natural environment at its best, visit to Chitwan National Park is the right option for you. So, if you are prepared to have bold visit to Chitwan National Park, so are we! Our accomplished proficient team are constantly dedicated for giving the best conceivable administration with wellbeing and security. We, base camp adventure, guarantee that the time you go through with us will be worth recalling.
