Langtang Valley Trek is one of the most popular short treks in Nepal. Located in the north of Kathmandu, Langtang Valley Trek is an easy and fun trek that offers glorious views of the gorgeous Langtang Himal range. The trek takes you to the beautiful valley bound by Langtang River and allows you to observe the Tamang way of life hence making this a perfect holiday trek.
Langtang Valley is rich with many beautiful landscapes and places worth exploring. The isolated and peculiar landscape of Langtang Valley has made it a rewarding trek which begins after an 8 hours’ drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi. The trail of this trek leads you into the dense forests of pine and Rhododendron, crossing alpine pastures and observing the diverse range of flora and fauna found inside the Langtang National Park. The presence of lovely villages and ancient monasteries add charm to this trek.
The trail goes through many Tamang villages before reaching Langtang village, a quiet village nestled in the foothill of Langtang Lirung (7229m). One of the major highlights of this trek is the visit to Kyanjin Gompa, which is famous for the production of local yak cheese at Yala Cheese Factory, but more than that Kyanjin Gompa is the most loved among the local Tamangs for its spiritual significance. The view of the surrounding mountains looks mystical as they stand tall behind the Gompa. A side trip to Kyanjin Ri (4773m) or Tserko Ri (4984m) offers the most amazing view of the Langtang range and other peaks. After enjoying the perks of Langtang Valley, the trek ends as you head back to Syabru Besi via Lama Hotel and move to Kathmandu with memories that will never fade away.
