Our trek journey starts as you take a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu. Lukla is the gateway of the Mount Everest region. You will trek to Phakding from Lukla. From Phakding, you will trek to Namche Bazaar. The commercial town has many ancient Sherpa settlements, hotels, pubs, cafes, and others.

The culture, tradition, and heritage of Sherpas will enchant all travelers. After arriving at Tengboche, you can observe the ancient monastery of this region. Trekkers will pass through the settlements of Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep. Finally, you will arrive at Everest Base Camp, which is our primary destination. This 360-degree panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains of the region will welcome you.

The trail goes uphill and downhill, passing through forests of rhododendron, juniper, and pine trees. Glaciers, glacial lakes, and green hills are another highlight of this trek. Flight duration: 35-40 minutes

Trek duration: 3-4 hrs

Overnight: Phakding

You can board your scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. It takes around 35-40 minutes to complete this journey. Lukla is the gateway of the Everest region with few hotels, teahouses, lodges, and others. After we finally arrive at Lukla airport, we will head to Phakding on our trekking journey.

You will trek along the left bank of Dudh Koshi River and then travel downhill to arrive at Phakding. You can get majestic views of mountains, including Kusum Kanguru (6367m), from the Phakding viewpoint. We will rest in the Phakding teahouse.

Maximum altitude: Namche Bazaar (3450 m)

Trek duration: 6-7 hours

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

We will start our trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar alongside a rugged trail. Moreover, Namche Bazaar is a beautiful settlement of local Sherpa people. There are many cafes, restaurants, bars, shops, and others. It is the central trading hub of the Everest/Khumbu region.

You will pass along trails that are remote and rugged and then cross rivers through suspension bridges. Trekkers will pass through Monjo village (2835m) during their journey. They will then enter Sagarmatha National Park premises. You will pass the Dudh Koshi River through the suspension bridge before reaching Jorsalle.

From this point, we will climb uphill on the steep path to arrive at Namche Bazaar. You can observe the first view of Mt. Everest from this point along the trail. We will finally arrive at our destination of Namche Bazaar after trekking for a few hours, where we rest for the night at a lodge.

Maximum altitude: Namche Bazaar (3450 m)

Hike duration: 1-2 hours

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

Trekking at high altitude conditions is quite challenging as you will have to face altitude sickness along trails. Therefore, acclimatization is essential when it comes to high-altitude trekking. You will explore for some duration, even on acclimatization days. There are opportunities to hike to Sir Edmund Hillary foundation’s Khunde Hospital.

From this Syangboche airstrip, you can observe Mt. Everest (8848.86m), Thamserku (6608m), Lhotse (8414m), Kusum Kanguru (6367m), Nuptse (7861m), and Ama Dablam (6856m). Trekkers can explore various points for an hour before returning to Namche. Besides that, you can also explore Namche, and it’s beautiful cafes, restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and others. We will return to our teahouse in Namche Bazaar in the evening and spend the night.

Maximum altitude: Tengboche (3865 m)

Trek duration: 5-6 hours

Overnight: Tengboche

After waking up early and having a delicious breakfast, we will begin our trek. We will pass through remote trails as we trek to Tengboche. You will walk alongside Dudh Koshi River, passing through various village settlements of the region. You can observe mountains through multiple viewpoints along the trail.

After crossing the Dudh Koshi River through the suspension bridge at PhunkeTenga (3250m), we will arrive at Tengboche. Tengboche is generally known for its ancient monastery and provides you with majestic views of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8414m), AmaDablam (6856m), and others. Trekkers can observe monks and nuns busy in their daily lifestyles. You can also observe evening prayers and chants that will enchant you spiritually. You will stay in a teahouse in Tengboche.

Maximum altitude: Dingboche (4410m)

Trek duration: 5-6 hours

Overnight: Dingboche

The trail on this day passes through rugged terrains along the descending path to Dingboche (4410m). We will cross Imja Khola and take an uphill climb to Pangboche village. This incredible village located just opposite Ama Dablam (6856m) provides you with majestic views of the Himalayas. You will get magical views of pine trees, Buddhist gompas, and mani walls.

From this point, you will climb uphill through dense juniper forests for around 2.5 hrs to arrive at Dingboche. We will rest and spend the night in the Dingboche teahouse.

Maximum altitude: Dingboche (4410m)

Hike duration: 1-2 hours

Overnight: Dingboche

Dingboche is another beautiful settlement where we will acclimatize for the second time. On this day, we will explore the region and go on small hikes. You can visit Nakartsang Gompa from where you can get an incredible view of Mt. Everest (8848 m) and other Himalayan mountains.

These mountains include Makalu (8481m), Lhotse (8414m), Baruntse (7129m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m), and Island Peak (6189m). You can also hike to Chhukhung to observe surrounding views of green hills, water streams, rivers, and others. We will rest and spend the night in Dingboche.

Maximum altitude: Lobuche (4940m)

Trek duration: 5-6 hours

Overnight: Lobuche

The trek today starts from Dingboche and takes you to Lobuche. You can observe a panoramic view of mountains along the trail as you pass through various settlements, including Dughla. You will then climb the rocky glacial moraines on an uphill path.

You will pass through small Chortens or memorials dedicated to Sherpas who perished on their way to Mt Everest (8848.86 m). From here, you will climb towards a glacier to arrive at Lobuche, where you will spend the night at a teahouse.

Maximum altitude: Everest Base Camp (5364m)

Trek duration: 4-5 hrs

Overnight: Gorakshep

You will start your trek from Lobuche, climbing uphill along rugged terrains. We will pass through various settlements before finally arriving at Gorak Shep, where we will rest and have lunch. Gorakshep is a beautiful sandbed and site of the original base camp to Mount Everest.

We will then trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m), which takes about three to four hours to arrive. The trails of this trek pass through many glaciers and rocks. You can observe majestic frozen lakes on your way to the Everest Base Camp.

After arriving at the base camp, you can watch a wide vista of the Himalayas plus other landscapes. You can take as many pictures of this region and then finally trek back to Gorakshep. You will spend the night at a local teahouse.

Maximum altitude: Kala Patthar (5545m)

Trek duration: 6-7 hrs

Overnight: Pheriche

The trail on this day starts with a scenic early sunrise overlooking the snow-capped mountains of the region. We will then observe majestic views of the region’s mountains as we trek to Kala Patthar (5545m). Kala Patthar trek is early in the morning in the dark. Therefore, it can get quite challenging, especially for first-time travelers.

From there, you can get a stunning view of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8414m), Khumbutse (6636m), Pumori (7161m), Nuptse (7861m), Lingtren (6749m), and others. After arriving at Kala Patthar, you will get majestic views of snow-capped mountains, including the best views of Mount Everest. After taking pictures and exploring the region, we will return to Gorak Shep and then finally to Pheriche, where we will stay overnight.

Maximum altitude: Pheriche (4243m)

Trek duration: 7-8 hrs

Overnight: Namche Bazaar

Today, you will start your trek through the juniper and rhododendron forests, where flowers bloom over hills in the Spring season. You will pass through Tengboche, where you will have your lunch and continue to Namche Bazaar.

We can observe majestic views of Lhotse (8414m) and Everest (8848.86 m) from here. You can take a hot shower and sleep overnight at a teahouse in Namche Bazaar. You can also explore the Namche Bazaar and take various souvenir items for your family back home.

Maximum altitude: Namche Bazaar (3450 m)

Trek duration: 6-8 hrs

Overnight: Lukla

This trail today starts from Namche Bazaar to Lukla as you pass through the rugged and remote terrains of the region. You can observe the incredible views and pass through steep and rocky terrain.

After crossing a suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, we will continue our journey. On the same route, we will get a different perspective of the region. You will pass through pine forests and green hills as you can observe majestic snow-capped mountains of the region. We will rest for the night at a local teahouse or a lodge.

Maximum altitude: Lukla (2860m)

Flight duration: 35-40 minutes
