Tamang Heritage Trek leads you to the beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, green mid-hills, flat meadows, hanging bridges, and gorgeous views of the towering mountains. Throughout your trek, you will reach different traditional Tamang villages where life, culture, and crafts are the same as they were in the old days. The people residing in this region are usually Buddhists with almost all people relying on farming, raising cattle, and trade. They wear attractive traditional dresses and live in houses decorated with fabulous woodcarvings. The precise architecture of the buildings will definitely amaze you, and in addition to the cultural experience, the homestay at several places of this Tamang Heritage Trek offers the warm hospitality of the Tamangs. You may also witness traditional dances like Syabru, Mane, and other thrilling local dances in Goljung, Brimdang, and Gatlang villages which are located near the Tibetan border. You will get to see the trading routes of Tibet-Nepal from where both countries have been importing and exporting goods for hundreds of years. Welcome to Nepal! You will be welcomed by our representatives at the airport who will then take you to the hotel. Overnight at a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu.
You start our trip early morning after having breakfast. Reach the bus station to start your journey towards Syabru Besi. Along the bus journey, you will drive through attractive villages catching glimpses of snowy peaks of the Langtang range, which makes your journey enjoyable. Overnight in Syabru Besi.
The road leads you from Sayabrubesi to the west that avoids the huge winding corners of the road. The steep track takes you to Rongga Bhanjyang (2180m) from where you descend towards Goljung Tamang village. You will then trek through the lush forest to head towards Gatlang, which is the largest Tamang settlement in the region. In the evening, you can visit the monastery and the cheese factory of Gatlang. Overnight in Gatlang.
After having breakfast in Gatlang, you follow the charming trail down the gorge, splitting left after an hour to descend and eventually cross the river before reaching Chilime village. The trail is dotted with many monasteries that remain sacred for the Tamang community of Langtang region. At the far end of Chilime, cross the river on the suspension bridge again and climb steeply above the gorge of Chilime River to arrive in Tatopani, where you will stay for the night
Today you climb uphill to a viewpoint serving excellent view of the Langtang range. You continue on an uphill trail through the lush forest to reach Nagthali Gnyang, from where you will descend to another Tamang village named Thuman. Here, you can visit the small monasteries with the backdrop of the Langtang range. Overnight in Thuman.
Follow the elevation northeast crossing a stony hillside, then go downhill steeply via Dalphedi to cross Bhote Koshi River. From here, trek north along the new road for about an hour to arrive in Timure. Timure is a beautiful Tamang village situated on the foothill of Langtang range and near the border with Tibet. Overnight in Timure.
From Timure, ascend for a while alongside Bhote Koshi River to reach the border town of Rasuwagadhi. After exploring the area for a while, hike back to Timure and continue to descend along the river on an easy path that splits in Lingling. From Lingling, ascend on a winding trail to reach Briddim, a picturesque Tamang village decorated with prayer flags leading to an ancient Gompa. Overnight in Briddim.
You leave Briddim and walk on a winding trail through the lush rhododendron forest to reach Wabgak. From Wangal, you follow the trail alongside Bhote Koshi River to reach Syabrubesi . You will have enough time to explore Syabrubesi today, so feel free to stroll around and interact with the locals. Overnight in Syabrubesi .
After having your breakfast in Syabrubeshi, take the local bus to drive back to Kathmandu via Dhunche, Ramche, and Trishuli bazaar. There are amazing views of the Langtang Himal range along the way. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your time in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today is the farewell day. We will drop you at the airport 3 hours before the scheduled time of your flight.
