About Langtang Valley
Langtang Valley lies on the north-central Himalayas of Bagmati province, 52 km away from the capital. This region is known for its trekking routes and hosting Langtang National Park.
You have to visit the National Park to trek in the Langtang region. The national park composes as the border with Tibet of China. It contains a wide range of climates, from subtropical to alpine.
Many people live inside this park, but the majority of them belong to the Tamang community. Many people still rely on the forests of the park for timber and firewood.
The forests of Langtang Valley also consist of different plants and animals. Some are Oak, Maple, Pine, Rhododendron, Himalayan Black Bear, Assam Macaque, red panda, etc.

September to November

June to August
These are the months of Summer/ Monsoon. It is scorching hot during June but gets humid by early-July. Slight chances of rainfall occur during the first week of July.
The temperature ranges about 30 degrees Celsius during the day in the lower region. And the temperature drops to 10.2 degrees during the day in the upper area.
Due to heavy rainfall, the trails are slippery and filled with bugs and insects during these months. The dense fog obstructs the view of beautiful peaks. But the scenarios after the rainfall is clear and mesmerizing.
December to February
These are the months of the winter season. It is the time of snow during this time, making it cold throughout the season. The temperature reaches from 6 to 9 degrees Celsius during the day and drops below the freezing point at night.
The Langtang valley is immersed in a blanket of snow during winter. The snow-capped region looks mesmerizing under the deep blue sky. Trekking in winter is better for those who want to explore and click pictures in solitude.
Langtang Tour Difficulties
Anyone can suffer from altitude sickness when trekking to the mountains. It is sure to gain some altitude when trekking in Nepal. However, Langtang valley does not lead you to extreme heights like Annapurna or Everest region.
The highest altitude in this trek is above 3500 m. At this altitude, there are rare chances of suffering from altitude sickness. However, it is not impossible, so be prepared.
Headache, dizziness, vomiting, shortness of breath, sleeping difficulty are some of the symptoms.
Langtang Valley has several remote places with no proper roads and modes of transportation. People depend on porters and airways for carrying the goods in this region.
Remoteness leads to improper accessibility and unavailability of many goods and services. Several small tracks surround the hills and mountains.
Weather and Temperature
The Langtang tour is doable throughout the year, but the weather changes are drastic around the region. There are chances of landslides in the valley during the rainy season.

Physical and Mental fitness
You travel about 60 to 80 km each day on foot during the Langtang Valley trek. On average, you walk for about 6 to 7 hours per day. The tour is tiring due to several ups and downs on trails, so physical fitness is necessary.
Trekking in the Himalayas can create mental stress for newcomers, so it is necessary to prepare yourself mentally. You need to remove your fear before beginning the trek.
Food and Accommodation
Langtang Valley is set up with many comfortable tea-houses and lodges. It is primarily a tea-house trek that provides simple food and accommodation. You can find single rooms, twin sharing rooms, or group sharing rooms.
The twin sharing room can cost about US$ 2 – US$ 5/ night. However, the price rises from US$ 12 to US$ 15/ night in peak season. During the off-season, you can bargain to lower the price.
As for food and drinks, you will have traditional cuisines in the entire tour. The meals cost about US$ 2 to US$ 3 in lower regions, while it rises to the US $5 to US$ 6 as you climb higher.
The bottled water costs about US$ 0.25 to US$ 2 but rises to US$ 5 in high regions. Thus, it is better to carry your bottle and refill it along the way.
